Center for Eating and feeding Disorders Research (CEDaR) is now hiring one-two psychologists for PostDoc positions in the HALO-trial, a large randomized controlled trial testing high, medium and low intensity psychotherapies for Binge Eating Disorder at Mental Health Center Ballerup.

CEDaR

You will join a large diverse and multidisciplinary group, comprised of Head of the unit Professor Nadia Micali and 28 staff members. Research in eating disorders is a highly prioritized research area of the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark, and you will meet a group of very committed colleagues. HALO-trial

The HALO trial deliver 4 different types and modes of psychotherapy from 2024-2026. The trial team will consist of a senior researcher, 1-2 PostDocs, 2 PhD students, masters students, clinicians and be led by the unit head Professor Nadia Micali.

PostDoc Position

The candidate will be part of the core-research team and will be supervising the daily activities in the trial alongside a Senior Researcher. The position is 100% divided as 50% research and 50% clinical time where you will deliver CBT within the trial. You will also conduct clinical assessments and supervise junior researchers in their research and assessment tasks. You will have the chance to create a PostDoc project within the frame of the randomized clinical trial and there is the opportunity develop a sub-project with data you find interesting. Your PostDoc project can be qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods. You will be an important person in ensuring timelines, quality procedures and progress in the trial. You will work alongside a strong team of researchers of all seniorities. The position is 2 years with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a keen interest in the fields of eating disorders and psychotherapy. The ideal candidate has experience with diagnostic interviews, working with psychiatric patients and psychotherapy. Experience with psychotherapy research and/or psychiatry research is needed. Strong research methodological skills is a requirement.

The candidate should have following qualifications:

  • A PhD degree in psychology/psychiatry from a Danish University
  • A masters degree in Psychology from a Danish University
  • Fluency in Danish
  • Great English skills
  • Be organized and self-directive
  • Be able to plan and coordinate own tasks
  • Be able to keep overview and foresee coming tasks
  • Be able to supervise junior members of staff
  • Have experience with quantitative research methods
  • Ideally has worked on a randomized controlled trial previously
  • Great communication skills
  • Be a team player and work for the communal welfare of the research group
  • Have experience delivering psychotherapy, ideally CBT (training will be provided)
  • Have experience with diagnostic assessments
  • Have experience in project management
Conditions:

Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisations.

The position is in accordance with best Danish labour practices, including a 37-hour work week, six weeks of paid vacation per annum, funded parental leave, matched pension contributions, enrolment in national healthcare, and labour union representation.

The position is offered for a fixed-term of 18 months.

Non-Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark in the last 10 years.

Since 2017, treatment of all adult patients with Eating Disorders in the Capital region has been located at Mental Health Centre Ballerup, and around one thousand patients are referred for treatment each year, making it one of the largest clinics for Eating Disorders in Europe.

Mental Health Center Ballerup is a part of Copenhagen University Hospital and one of nine departments, that provide treatment for mental disorders in the Capital Region of Denmark. The department consists of ten inpatient wards comprising 157 beds, nine outpatient clinics with several specialized functions and three research groups. We employ around 90 medical doctors and 80 psychologists in addition to nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and technical and administrative staff.
