We seek a highly qualified researcher in analytical chemistry and metabolomics for nutrition and microbiome research to join the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports at the University of Copenhagen. The position is temporary for 3 years and is available from 1 October 2025.
The associate professor’s duties will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication and scientific communication as well as research-based teaching within analytical chemistry and metabolomics, with associated examinations. The associate professor will contribute to the continuous development of liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods and applications of metabolomics in several externally funded research projects in the fields of nutrition, microbiome and cardiometabolic health, supervision of PhD/postdocs, and applications for research funding.
In particular, the applicant should:
Applicants are required to have university level teaching experience, documented teaching competencies and must be able to explain and reflect upon own teaching practice and portfolio. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen teacher training programme for assistant professors is required. Experience with teaching metabolomics is an advantage.
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and out-reach qualifications of applicants including ability to attract external funding will also be considered.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
