Faculty of SCIENCE
University of Copenhagen Department of Biology, Section for Biomolecular Sciences invites applicants for a PhD fellowship in intracellular protein quality control and degradation. The start date is December 1st 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The project The PhD project focuses on the mechanisms involved in specific ubiquitin and proteasome dependent degradation of structural destabilized missense protein variants linked to human genetic disorders. The project will involve a broad range of molecular biological techniques, including various high throughput screening technologies with human cell lines and yeast, FACS, and NGS.
Who are we looking for? We are seeking highly motivated and strong applicants with a Masters’ degree in biochemistry, molecular biomedicine, molecular biology or similar fields. In addition, prior research experience with one or more of the following techniques/areas is needed:
- High throughput screening
- Deep mutational scanning
- Yeast genetics
- Cell and molecular biology
- The ubiquitin-proteasome system
We are looking for the following qualifications - Professional qualifications relevant to the PhD projects
