The position is based at DPU at either Aarhus campus or Emdrup campus (see the description of DPU below).
It is important that the selected applicant takes part in the daily activities of the department, including both teaching and supervising.
Since the department is situated in both Aarhus and Copenhagen, the selected applicant should expect some travel activity.The positionWe are looking for applicants with knowledge within the field of educational psychology in a lifelong perspective, and preferably also with a background within the field of developmental psychology.
We are furthermore looking for applicants with expertise in the contextual understandings of lifelong development, learning and wellbeing and with knowledge about widespread developmental crises (transitions, developmental disturbances) of relevance to the educational psychology field across institutional settings (home, daycare, school, work).
An interest in both individual and group dynamic perspectives is welcome, as is knowledge about how to intervene and support professionals and their cooperation as well as children, young people and adults.The position will be affiliated to the educational psychology section within the Department of Educational Anthropology and Educational Psychology.
The section is responsible for the Master's degree programme in educational psychology and the professional Master's degree programme in the psychology of well-being and capabilities.The selected applicant will be expected to contribute to both programmes in a teaching and supervisory capacity.ResearchWe are looking for applicants with a research profile that can complement and contribute to developing the existing teaching and research in the field of educational psychology with a focus on lifelong development.The selected applicant for the assistant professorship will be expected to develop new research projects within one or more of the following areas:Early childhood education and care (ECEC) Developmental crisis in a lifelong perspective Learning and wellbeing in schools - children, youth, and adultsResearch and intervention/support in relation to children, youth and adults in the digital ageMarginalised and institutionalised conduct of life in a developmental and lifelong perspective.Teaching The selected applicant will be expected to play an active role in the development and coordination of the Master's degree programme in educational psychology and in the teaching and supervision of students on this programme and other programmes offered by the Danish School of Education at Master's and professional Master's levels.
Teaching activities are divided between the campuses in Aarhus and Copenhagen, which is why some travel activity must be expected.The selected applicant will be obliged to complete a course in university teaching designed especially for assistant professors.Talent development The selected applicant will be expected to develop their supervision capabilities at Master's level.
Knowledge exchangeIt is expected that the selected applicant will engage in knowledge exchange as mentioned in the strategy for the Faculty of Arts, for instance in research cooperation with private companies, government consultancy, cooperation with civil society actors or public dissemination of knowledge.
Applicants should document any prior experience within the field of knowledge exchange.Qualifications The selected applicant must have a Master's and PhD degree or the equivalent in psychology, educational psychology or a related field and must be able to document the following:Theoretical knowledge about a broad range of psychological theories, especially contextual developmental psychology of relevance for the field of educational psychology Knowledge of a variety of methods, including interviews and observation and preferably also assessment and interventions over the lifespanExperience or interest in teaching in relation to the Master's degree programme in educational psychology and the professional Master's degree programme in the psychology of well-being and capabilitiesAn internationally oriented research profile A relevant and internationally oriented publication profileExperience or interest in participating in national and international research networksExperience or interest in communication and knowledge exchangeExperience in interdisciplinary collaboration as well as interdisciplinary research Experience in or potential for obtaining external research fundingExperience or interest in interdisciplinary teaching, including innovative teaching methodsExperience or interest in supervising student projects and interest in researcher talent development.The selected applicant must be able to teach and publish in English.
If the selected applicant cannot speak Danish, they will be required to learn Danish within a period of approximately two years.The selected applicant will be expected to contribute to the department's academic environment.
