The position

As an Associate Director - Medical Insights, you will play a central and global role in the development and long-term ambition of our newly established Global Medical Insights function situated in Global Medical Affairs (GMA). You will work closely with colleagues within headquarters and regions, covering our entire medical affairs worldwide organisation.

The current key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead the implementation of the Global Medical Insights Framework
  • Lead the Global Medical Affairs processes for medical insights
  • Strategic Integration and cross-functional collaboration  
  • Drive organisational readiness
  • Identify and initiate opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Ensure digital enablement

 

Given that the area is still developing, the nature of the role is flexible and may transform to cover another focused project within the unit, there are also projects in building processes and systems to manage and analyse medical insights and how to transform them into actionable insights.

 

In this role, you will be based in our headquarter in Copenhagen, Denmark, and report to the Head of GMA Insights and Evidence Strategy. The job requires an ability to work independently on complex tasks and lead projects as well as use in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical value chain to support the development of impactful area deliverables.

 

Qualifications

As a person, you are a strong team player, who is familiar with how Medical Affairs operates and appreciates building relations with stakeholders. You have ability to develop and implement comprehensive scientific strategies that align with corporate and project ambitions, you show proficiency in identifying, establishing, and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders in HQ and operations (regions and affiliates).  You also enjoy stakeholder relation building, driven by curiosity, and with strong analytical skills. You represent strong analytical skills to interpret clinical data, RWE, and other scientific information. This ability is crucial for generating actionable insights and making informed decisions that support medical strategies and communication plans.

We expect the ideal candidate to have the following:

  • Master's degree in a scientific field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Medical Affairs or related field within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record and understanding of medical insights activities (e.g., field medical insights, advisory boards, data/insights gathering systems or reporting)
  • Proven track record in medical affairs strategy and execution.
  • Proven track record in collaborating within cross-functional teams and providing insights to support product development decisions
  • Experience in successfully collaborating with stakeholders at various organizational levels, including senior management
  • Solid knowledge and skills relevant for NN Business and value chain understanding
  • Strong knowledge within a specific process and extensive business understanding across SVP areas
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

About the department

The GMA Insights and Evidence Strategy department is part of Medical Portfolio in Global Medical Affairs in Novo Nordisk. Which is part of our CVP area Medical Portfolio in Global Medical Affairs, comprising diverse departments all working across different TAs and large stakeholder interactions creating value across the value chain.

You will have the chance to play a key role in creating and implementing innovative strategies and solutions that will have a significant impact on the success of our medical affairs organisation.
