An associate professorship is a full-time permanent position. Associate professors divide their time evenly between research and teaching activities, and the successful candidates will become part of the AIROD research section. The starting date is 1 August 2025 or as agreed upon.
Job descriptionWe are looking for candidates who can strengthen our research profile. A significant part of our work involves business partners, and we often perform applied research. Hence, it is important that the candidates have an intention to conduct research on topics that are relevant to modern companies and potentially involves company collaboration.
Candidates are expected to teach and supervise students at all levels including PhD students. Our study programme portfolio contains a MSc program and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration as well as industry-oriented training. Hence, candidates should be able to teach courses in one or more of the following domains: Management accounting, Financial accounting, and Finance.
Your qualificationsEmployment as associate professor requires a PhD degree and a strong academic background as assistant professor or equivalent. Furthermore, applicants for associate professorships should hold the following qualifications:
• A proven record of strong international research, as evidenced by publications in highly reputed international journals.
- A track record of excellence in teaching on topics relevant for our study programmes.
- A clear, well-developed and viable strategy for future high-level research.
- A track record of good citizenship in the wider academic community combined with a commitment to contributing to a vibrant work environment at our department.
- A commitment to sharing insights and knowledge with the broader society and prioritising dialogue with practitioners.
- A commitment to teaching that provides the students with relevant competences as well as the ability to reflect critically on business topics.
- A willingness to engage in external research funding activities.
- Applicants are encouraged to describe how their research is important for industry. The description could include concrete collaborations, impact, dissemination activities, etc.
Non-Danish speakers are required to acquire a reasonable knowledge of the Danish language within three years. The department will grant time off from teaching to attend Danish courses during the first two years of employment.
Permanent employment as associate professor at Aarhus BSS requires completion of the supervision course and also the course Online and blended learning provided by Centre for Educational Development at Aarhus University. If you have not completed the courses before commencement of employment, continued employment will be conditional on completion of the courses within a two year period.
Who we are BTECH is part of Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University – a top 100 university. BTECH is located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. We influence society through business development and technology. For this reason, many research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry on the basis of new data and new technologies. Terms of employmentThe appointment is made in accordance with the
Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the
Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State (in Danish).
