Job Position: Bending Machine Operator

Job description:

• You will work with a bending machine (often called a press brake), which is used to shape sheet metal or other materials by bending them at certain angles. The main task of the bending operator is to operate the machine and ensure that the materials are bent precisely according to the desired specifications.

Work tasks:

• Setting up the machine: The operator mounts the correct tools and sets the machine to make the correct bends based on drawings and specifications.
• Operating the bending machine: The operator controls the machine, often using computers or programmable systems, to ensure accurate bending of materials. It may involve manually feeding materials into the machine.
• Control of materials: The operator must ensure that the materials are correctly positioned and that the bends meet the technical specifications, both in terms of angle and dimensions.
• Quality Control: After bending, the operator performs inspections to ensure that the product meets quality standards, both visually and by using measuring equipment such as protractors and calipers.
• Safety and maintenance: It is important that the operator follows safety precautions as the work involves heavy machinery.
• Work with very thin steel - thickness is 0.5 mm - 1 mm.

Ideal Candidate:

• Is physically strong and has good endurance, as it may involve standing work and handling heavy materials over a long period of time.
• Is able to read and understand technical drawings.
• Is able to operate advanced bending machines, which are often computer controlled (CNC machines).
• Understand how different materials such as steel, aluminum or copper behave during bending. Different materials require different settings and techniques.
• Is  able to identify and resolve problems that may arise during production, such as machine faults or material defects.
• Follow safety procedures closely to avoid injuries and accidents.
• Is able to keep order and work effectively.
