Today, Donkey Republic is active in more than 80 European cities with more than 20,000 bicycles, aiming to have more cyclists in cities with fewer bicycles as shared bikes can offer transport solutions to more people.
We are looking for a new colleague to support the growing bike fleet and ensure its high quality standards in the company's home city Copenhagen, through our workshop in Søborg.
The Bike Service Quality Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation and high-quality maintenance of bicycles in the workshop. This role involves defining optimal workflows for bike repairs, supervising and training a team of mechanics, and overseeing the quality of bike repairs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and has hands-on experience with bicycle repairs, team coordination, and quality control processes.
Workflow Management and Bicycle Repairs
Develop, document, and continuously improve workflows for bike repairs to ensure efficiency and quality.
Implement best practices and ensure all bike mechanics follow the defined processes for maintenance and repairs.
Repairing bicycles and electric bicycles, carrying out preventive maintenance.
Quality Assurance
Oversee and evaluate the quality of bike repairs performed by the mechanics.
Implement regular quality checks to ensure that all bikes meet safety and performance standards.
Conduct root-cause analysis of any recurring issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Training
Support the team leads coordinating a team of 2-10 bike mechanics, providing guidance, support, and training.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions to improve the mechanics' technical skills and understanding of repair protocols.
Ensure mechanics are up-to-date on new techniques, tools, and equipment relevant to bike maintenance.
Workshop Management
Ensure that the workshop is well-maintained, organized, and operational with necessary equipment and tools.
Collaboration
Work closely with the leadership team to set operational strategies, define performance targets, and implement new processes.
Technical Expertise
Completed bike mechanic education (preferably in Denmark).
Hands-on experience in bicycle maintenance and repair, including electric bicycles.
Solid understanding of operational workflow design and process optimization.
Training capabilities
Proven ability to train and develop team members to maintain high standards of quality.
Attention to Detail
Keen eye for detail to ensure precision in repairs and adherence to safety standards.
Strong organizational skills to develop, implement and ensure maintenance guidelines for repair flows.
Communication & team-working skills
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback.
Ability to build relationships and foster collaboration within the team.
