Role Overview

As a Board Member of DANSIC, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's strategic direction, fostering partnerships, and ensuring the successful execution of our flagship event, DANSIC25. This is a voluntary position suited to individuals passionate about social innovation and eager to make a meaningful impact in the community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance for DANSIC’s annual activities, including DANSIC25, a large-scale event focused on social innovation.

  • Collaborate with other board members to establish organizational goals, ensuring alignment with DANSIC’s mission to inspire social innovation in Denmark.

  • Oversee and support directors in their respective roles, helping them achieve their team’s objectives.

  • Engage with stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, and volunteers, to build strong relationships and expand DANSIC's network.

  • Contribute to the financial sustainability of DANSIC by assisting in fundraising efforts, securing sponsorships, and maintaining oversight of budgets and financial plans.

  • Ensure DANSIC complies with governance standards, following internal by-laws and legal obligations.

  • Participate in board meetings, provide mentorship to directors and volunteers, and ensure a smooth transition to future board members.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current Student or a Recent graduate with some experience in leadership roles, ideally within non-profit organizations, startups, or social enterprises.

  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in stakeholder management.

  • Passion for social innovation, sustainability, and volunteer-driven initiatives.

  • Prior experience with event management, fundraising, or finance is a plus.

  • Ability to commit approximately 2-3 hours per week to DANSIC activities (fluctuating workload depending on the season).

  • Knowledge of Danish is plus not necessary
