Do you want to work for a rising software company in the heart of Aarhus and possess the proper skill set to bring a state-of-the-art software solution to German-speaking water & wastewater markets?

We continue to expand our footprint into the German market and are looking for a dynamic Business Developer to join our team. You will be an integral part of APX10’s “Team Germany” and act centrally in the decisions and processes of our international expansion to the DACH region, working with sales and customer success.

Globally, we see immediate water and climate challenges that need urgent attention. We work with utility data, providing advanced data analytics through our APX® platform. We highlight water utility infrastructure reinvestment needs and generate customer value from existing data. We aim to help utilities and cities overcome the challenges of increased urbanization, aging infrastructure, and climate change.

Job Overview

As a Business Developer/Internal Sales representative at APX10, you will be pivotal in driving our market entry and expansion in Germany. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, and supporting the sales process from lead generation to closing deals. Your experience with the German market, particularly in the B2B and/or B2G sectors, will be crucial in establishing our presence and success in this new market.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Entry Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of APX10’s market entry strategy in Germany, focusing on identifying key opportunities in the utility and municipal sectors.

  • Lead Generation: Identify and qualify potential leads in the German market through research, networking, and direct outreach.

  • Sales Support: Assist in the sales process by preparing proposals, presentations, and contracts tailored to the needs of German clients.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects,  clients, partners, and key stakeholders in the German market.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and regulatory developments in Germany to inform strategic decisions.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the APX10 sales and marketing team + external partners to align strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to market entry.

  • Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service and support to German clients, promptly resolving their needs and issues.

 

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a curious and analytical mind. More importantly, you have a sales mind for commercializing software solutions in the water/wastewater space, and you are eager to learn and not afraid to take the initiative and run with it.

 

Education:

We value commitment and experience over your educational background.  You can have a sales, technology, or engineering background, but most importantly, you possess the skill set to challenge and change. 

 

Experience:

  •  Experience in business development, sales, or a related role with a strong focus on the German market.

  •  Experience in B2B and/or B2G sectors is highly desirable.

  • Go-to-market research, including market and competitor analysis

  • Supporting and screening for partners to support new market entry

  • Content marketing, including communication material, such as online content and PowerPoint presentations

  • Sales activities

 Market Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of the German business environment, including cultural nuances, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.

Travel:

  • Expected travel days 30 days annually

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and market analysis skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Cultural Fit: A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving business growth and a commitment to sustainability and innovation

  • Fluency in both German and English is required.


Our office language is Danish and English, and you will become an integrated part of the team from day one. Language skills in German are considered a fundamental skill for this position. We also expect that you speak and write English fluently.
