The Civil Project Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of civil engineering as assigned by the Project Manager.
This includes coordinating, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with civil engineering guidelines, design criteria, specifications, and standards.
As a site engineer, you will monitor diversified aspects of construction project management, including planning, coordination, and supervision of on-site activities. You will also liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure efficient communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, supervise, and manage detailed civil engineering processes, validating calculations and designs from different engineering sources
- Verify compliance with norms, standards, and design specifications
- Supervise and manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications
- Report project updates, milestones, and potential risks to the project manager and key stakeholders
- Plan and oversee the allocation of resources, materials, and equipment to optimize project efficiency
- Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and adhere to budget constraints
- Develop job concept catalogs for bidding and hiring in construction projects, including procuring all materials and civil services needed
- Regularly update CapEx estimates and planning, contributing to defining project contracting strategies
- Review tender documentation for construction projects and provide technical support throughout the tender process, including reviewing offers and negotiations
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 3-5+ years of experience in civil engineering and projects
- 5-8+ years in engineering or construction firms
- 2+ years in site civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of cement industry processes and industrial plant projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Staad Pro, SAP 2000, Primavera, and MS Project
- Fluent in German (90%) and English (90%)
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Experience with contractor selection and project execution
- Site experience required
