CMO Material Support Manager

The position
We have established a new department within Material Manufacturing Development called CMO Material Support, which focuses on providing material support to our CMOs (Contract Manufacturing Organisations). As Manager, you will head up a team of approximately 7-10 professionals and specialists.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Support your employees in their daily operations and ensure coaching and development of the team

• Set directions and prioritize, be a present and visible leader

• Continuously work with process optimizations towards smarter solutions for our stakeholders and customers

• Ensure that the team meets deadlines, efficient workflows and strong collaboration in a fast-paced environment and across a broad stakeholder landscape.

You will be part of a well-functioning and highly professional team, which is characterized by cross-functional cooperation and continuous development. You get good opportunities for close sparring with your team leader colleagues across the Material Manufacturing Development area and will be entering a new dedicated management team where honesty, ambition and great laughs go hand-in-hand.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we imagine you:

• Hold a degree within science or similar, supplemented with experience with GMP.
• Are a strong people leader with at least four years of experience with people management 
• Are fluent in both spoken and written English. Spoken and written Danish is an advantage but not a requirement
• Possess a drive for actively engaging with peers and managers in the management team
• Have a strategic mindset, as that will be essential for building and guiding the new CMO Material Support department into the future

Having experience within building up new areas within pharmaceuticals would be a great asset.
As a person, you build strong relations with stakeholders at all levels, both cross-functionally and internationally, thanks to your professional and open approach. You possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate strategic and complex topics in a structured way to different stakeholders. As a manager, you must be able to challenge, inspire, and develop – both your employees and the team as a unit. 

About the department
Material Manufacturing Development is part of Sourcing Operations, which has the overall operational responsibility for the inbound supply chain of Novo Nordisk and consists of 500 employees. 

Material Manufacturing Development consists of approximately 125 dedicated colleagues organized in four departments. We are experts in implementing and managing GMP materials and analyses. Our goal is to deliver robust solutions and proactively support a seamless global flow, by establishing and maintaining in-house specifications, providing support to CMOs, handling regulatory submissions, supporting development activities, among many other activities. 

The new CMO Material Support department provides material support to our CMOs for raw materials, starting materials, excipients, intermediates and Primary Packaging materials. We cooperate with a variety of functions and stakeholders, including Development, quality control and assurance, IT, inbound supply management, strategic sourcing and Novo Nordisk production sites globally, as well as with external CMOs. We are establishing two new teams in CMO Material Support, one focusing on Drug Substance CMOs and the other on Drug Product CMOs. We currently seek newManagers to head up the two newly established teams. The roles will be based in Hillerød but moving to Taastrup by the end of 2024.
