About Blend:

Blend is a wholesale and retail carpet company. Our carpets are hand-made with natural materials such as wool, jute, silk and recycled PET. These are high-end luxurious carpets which are made with the same superior weaving technique of Persian carpets but have simple and neutral designs which suit the Nordic design sensibility.

But Blend is not just another carpet company. Its a mission-led start-up which believes business should be a force for larger good.

Blend works only with social enterprises who employ and uplift marginalized women from patriarchal villages in India to bring elegant products to the urban buyer in Nordics.

By promoting handmade products by marginalized women Blend can impact 11 out of 17 UN SDG goals. So, we are looking for people who are passionate about gender equality like us and want to experience diverse cultures.

We launched in Q2 and already have our products in boutique store in North of Copenhagen.

Once we establish market connects, Blend wants to connect designers from Denmark and other Nordic countries to production centers in these rural villages to blend the functional Nordic design with 5000 years old artisanal talent of India.

In future, Blend will also explore tech-based leasing options for its high-end home furnishing range. We believe that everyone should be able to upgrade home furnishings without giving-in to consumerism and impacting mother nature adversely.

 

The Role:

We are seeking a visionary Head of Sales/Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) who is passionate about sales, marketing, design, startups, tech, and most importantly social equity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Short-term

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to introduce our carpets to retail chains, interior designers and standalone stores emphasizing the benefits of handmade and natural material products.

  • Create pricing strategies and negotiate contracts to maximize profitability

  • Identify relevant networks and create unique events which generate a buzz and position our carpets in a premium segment.

Medium term

  • Co-develop plans for expansion into other Nordic countries

  • Explore and implement tech-based leasing options for our products

 

Requirements:

  • Proven success in retail and ecommerce, particularly in design and lifestyle products.

  • Strong network within interior designers and /or furnishing companies.

  • Passionate about social equity and curious about engaging with the fastest growing large economy-India

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a dynamic startup environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
