Center for Humanities Computing (CHC) and the School of Culture and Society at Aarhus University invite applications for the position as Communications Consultant for communication and project coordination at Center for Humanities Computing. It is a full time administrative position (AC-TAP) available from 1 January 2025 for three years (to December 31 2027) with the possibility of permanence depending on funding.  The position reports to the Head of Secretariat, but on a daily basis, your closest supervisor will be Kristoffer Nielbo, Director of Center for Humanities Computing.

The position

We are seeking a candidate, who will collaborate with the director and staff of Center for Humanities Computing (CHC) to:
  • Maintaining internal and external communication channels for Center for Humanities Computing and projects affiliated with CHC including websites, newsletters and social media channels.
  • Create written and visual content for the above-mentioned communication channels, as well as presentations and research applications.
  • Undertake administrative project management of present and future research projects
  • Collaborate with partner universities on national HPC communication initiatives, fulfilling the center’s obligations to DeiC as the primary lead for Interactive HPC outreach.
  • Take part in the day to day administration of CHC including budget management, onboarding, event organisation, network activities, and staff support.
  • Be part of the management team of Center for Humanities Computing and manage one or more student assistants.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:
  • Have a BA degree in communication
  • Possess at least three years of experience in a similar position involving academic communication
  • Have proficient written and verbal communication skills in both Danish and English
  • Have academic project managing experience and/or have completed relevant project management courses
  • Possess graphic design experience and be familiar with the guidelines of the AU design manual
  • Be familiar with university organisation and mode of work
  • Have experience with networking across research environments and institutions
  • Have experience with website maintenance and good IT qualifications
  • Have experience with organizing events such as workshops and conferences

The work environment

This position will be based at the Center for Humanities Computing - a research and development unit at Aarhus University that collaborates with researchers from arts and humanities (Faculty of Arts) at Aarhus University.
Our offices are located in Nobel Parken, 8000 Aarhus C and holds about 30 employees. CHC values a healthy work-life-balance and offers work conditions where flexible hours and some amount of remote work is possible.
