The Novo Nordisk Foundation CO2 Research Center (CORC) is seeking a creative and gifted Communications Manager/Specialist to join our team and help us enhance our visibility across various channels and target audiences. Job descriptionThe Communications Manager role is a newly established position at the CO2 Research Center. The Communications Manager will become a key member of the CORC Operations team, reporting directly to the COO. The role will not only lead the overall communication activities for the COO, but also support the CEO and the Operations team on external and internal communication.
The Communications Manager’s main tasks include:
- Playing a pivotal role in planning and execution of the communication strategy with a focus on creative content production, preferably including graphic elements, images, and videos across platforms like social media, our website, and print.
- Engaging in proactive press activities and contributing to managing press inquiries.
- Crafting compelling relevant content for our channels such as our website and social media platforms, as well as serving as communications lead for material ranging from annual report, powerpoint presentations, opinion pieces to brochures and more.
- Browsing, formulating, and sharing impactful stories about CORC's work towards diverse target audiences.
- Maintaining both the structure and content of the CORC website, producing and updating new content.
- Nurturing and maintaining our visual identity across all platforms.
- Lead development of visual elements by taking charge of external consultancy activities, including development of graphics and videos.
- Collaborating within our team to cover a range of ad hoc tasks, primarily focused on applying your communication skills.
Your profileWe are looking for a person who works well as single lead on communication activities but who also enjoys engaging as an equal part in a diverse team. You share our passion for combatting climate change through new technologies and are able to translate our scientific language into meaningful narratives and messages to the general public.
Furthermore, the following background is required:
- You have a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree related to professional communication, such as Master in Communication, or Master of Corporate Communication or similar. Alternatively, you have an academic background in one of our scientific research fields and have built solid experience in communication.
- You have knowledge/insights into scientific communication and ability to clearly convey complex and often technical topics.
- A profound understanding of effective and targeted communication of technical material to nontechnical audiences.
- A creative mindset with a knack for discovering and developing engaging content and narratives.
- Experience with website management.
- Strong communication skills in English and Danish.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster and maintain trusting relationships.
- An interest in and ideally experience with research environments.

Who we areThe Novo Nordisk Foundation CO2 Research Center (CORC) was established in 2022 and is a mission‐oriented center based at Aarhus University. The center’s purpose is to develop novel science and early technologies for carbon capture and conversion.
