A clinical position as consultant of Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology and Allergy at
Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev and Gentofte, is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Dermatovenerology at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

About the department The department consists of two sections: Dermato-venerology and Allergology. The Dermato-Venereological function covers all areas of dermatology and venerology with special function in contact eczema, inflammatory diseases and genetic disorders. The function has a large outpatient clinic with approx. 39,000 consultations per year, a large allergy laboratory, a venereal clinic with drop-in function and a treatment section with CO2 laser and dye laser.
The Dermato-Venereological function has 11 specialist positions and 10 classified educational positions. The function also has a comprehensive university function with undergraduate teaching and currently 20 PhD students. There are currently two professors affiliated with the dermatology function (including 1 professor of dermatology), as well as eight associate clinical professors. Furthermore, the National Center for Allergy is affiliated.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department Department of Dermatology has a highly specialized outpatient clinic, and the applicant is expected to see, handle and take part of leadership for securing high quality clinical work for the highly specialized dermatological patients with special emphasis on clinical responsibility for mycology, infections and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Emphasis will be placed on qualifications within management, communication, and the ability to collaborate both interdisciplinary and with cooperating departments.
Research and teaching With the new position as consultant in Dermatology and clinical professor of Dermatovenerology the Department of Dermatology and Allergy wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.
Qualifications Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Dermatovenerology.
Conditions In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev - Gentofte
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Department of Dermatology and Allergy, Herlev & Gentofte Hospital.
