The Control Systems Engineering department is accountable for the architecture and integration of the turbine control systems, including functional safety. In close collaboration with our hardware and software teams, we elicit and distribute requirements and perform system-level failure mode analysis as well as performance-level calculations. We verify system functionality in virtual simulation environments as well as on test benches and complete wind turbines.
Responsibilities
Participate in developing and maintaining the control system simulation environment
Integrate and solve dynamic models of control system hardware and software
Integrate models of adjacent mechanical and electrical systems in the simulation environment
Handle daily development and regression testing
Develop new methods for solving simulation problems
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align fidelity and model exchange methods
Qualifications
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in control engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field, with good academic results and solid knowledge of dynamical systems
0-3 years of industry experience in simulator development or similar computational software development
Proficiency in at least one of these programming languages: C++, C#, MATLAB, Python, or JavaScript
Experience with general software development tools such as IDEs, Git, etc
Interest in modelling for the Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI)
Interest in model-based systems engineering and modelling languages such as UML, SysML v2, etc
Competencies
Naturally curious and adept at scripting solutions for routine tasks
Enjoy solving technical challenges individually and collaboratively
Comfortable working within a global organization
