Data Engineer to Build Big Data Paltform for Autorola

The Position

Reporting to the Head of Data Science in our Business Unit, Indicata, you will play a central role in building our new Big Data Platform. The platform will support the business unit, but it will also be connected to the rest of Autorola to ensure that, over time, we can collaborate with the entire organization. You will collaborate closely with our IT department, focusing on building a data platform that adheres to best practices and benefits our customers by delivering data, analytics, and reporting products to help them improve their business and assist their customers.

Working with the Indicata Data Science team, you will develop data pipelines to transform raw data sources into cleansed datasets. These datasets will be enriched with advanced analytics and data science features, ultimately being presented to end-users and customers via Excel or Power BI. It is part of the team’s DNA that customers are willing to pay for what we do. That is how we understand value generation, and even though you will not be working directly with or for customers, it is important that you are motivated by being so close to the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop & Maintain: Work with our DevSecOps IT architect to build and sustain data layers and logic on AWS and Databricks.
• Govern DevOps: Ensure adherence to DevOps principles for data scientists and business users.
• Expertise in SQL: Act as the subject matter expert for our Indicata SQL data warehouse.
• Monitor Data Quality: Create metrics to ensure data integrity.
• Manage Pipelines: Set up and maintain data extraction pipelines for customers.
• Project Involvement: Participate in meetings to scope and report on projects. Take ownership of the project, working independently while effectively navigating a complex stakeholder landscape.
• Code Review: Refine data science code for production readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience: Ideally 2-3 years of experience in, software development, or computer science. Experience with databases, business intelligence or similar is desirable but not a requirement.
• Cloud Expertise:Proficiency with AWS or Azure, API Scraping, SQL, Data Lakes, Git, and Cloud Computing Services.
• Coding Proficiency:Ability to write and program production-ready code.
• Data Modeling:Knowledge of R and Python for data modeling, and Spark for Big Data Computing.
• Language Skills:Professional proficiency in English.

Besides, you will be collaborating with our forecasting team, our product team and the rest of Indicata.

We have an open-office environment, which is characterized by an informal and easygoing communicative culture. Our headquarters are located right by the railway station at Skibhusvej 52 A 5000 Odense C.
