Data Engineer/ETL designer

We are looking for a Data Engineer/ETL designer for our client in the Banking Industry.

Location: Greater Copenhagen, hybrid.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Systems
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing ETL solutions for large scale data warehouses, working in complex business data domains and interacting with complex data processing pipelines
• 5+ years of hand-on experience with SQL databases (MS SQL, Oracle) and IBM DataStage (or other similar ETL tools)
• Hands on experience with real-time data streaming and integration tool (Kafka)
• Knowledge about banking products more specifically credit area. Adequate support and training will be provided to the right candidate
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools preferably Jenkins and highly automation processes is highly desirable
• Advanced knowledge of ETL systems and standard ETL sub-systems
• Advanced knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and standard approaches
• Advanced knowledge of Data Integration concepts (streaming, batch)
• Strong skills in translating business requirements to ETL solutions
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and under own initiative once guidance and goals are provided
• Ability to provide leadership and guidance to the data warehouse development team
• Knowing what ‘good looks like’ when it comes to data warehousing in 2025
• Experience from the Banking industry
• Relevant educational background
• Valid EU work permit making you able to start right away
• Professional level of English - both oral and written

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Defining and develop the ETL framework and standard practices for data warehouse development on Oracle
• Designing high-level ETL solutions and assisting/guiding the data warehouse development team with translating these ETL solutions into implementable ETL flows
• Defining and develop data integration patterns for in-bound and out-bound data flows
• Providing technical leadership to the data warehouse development team
• Documenting the ETL system and the sub-systems of ETL and managing their evaluation
