This position is based at our friendly office in Roskilde, Denmark and you will join our Data Governance team in Data and Analytics domain. Data Governance team is responsible for developing and enforcing data governance policies, requirements and procedures in BEC to ensure data integrity, availability, and confidentiality.
The Data Governance specialist offers the opportunity to shape and influence BEC’s data governance initiatives, making differences in influencing and educating stakeholders to implement data governance principles as part of their day-to-day life. The data governance team helps ensure that data is managed effectively, securely, and in compliance with relevant regulations, ultimately supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Khay Ling Poh.
Primary Focus: Ensuring that data assets in BEC comply with regulations and internal policies.
Primary task and responsibilities include:
- Define and implement governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with banking regulations like GDPR, BCBS 239, Data Security and AML laws.
- Work with data stewards and other stakeholders to ensure Data Governance framework is embedded in all domain and areas in BEC.
- Leverage relevant governance tools to establish data governance and data quality measurements in order to monitor adherence to policies.
- Ensure proper data lineage and metadata management is implemented in BEC for transparency in analytics and regulatory reporting.
- Act as a liaison between legal, audit, compliance, and technical teams to align data governance with business goals.
- Promote a culture of data governance and data management across BEC through training and policy awareness.
- The role may be required to travel to our Warsaw, Poland office.
To succeed you will have:
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data management best practices.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) and proficiency in creating high-quality policy and procedures documentation.
- A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others.
- Experience in defining business requirements for tool development
- Strong collaboration mindset and ability to facilitate cross-functional team meetings to discuss and resolve data governance issues, and work with IT and business stakeholders to meet data-related business requirements
