Deep Learning - Student Position

PerPlant is a deep-tech startup dedicated to assisting farmers in transitioning to sustainable agriculture through AI and sensor technology. We develop tractor-mounted smart camera systems that enable real-time field monitoring for pest pressure and plant health analysis. This empowers farmers to make data-driven decisions about chemical usage, reducing costs and environmental impacts, while promoting biodiversity and climate health.

As a Deep Learning Intern, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing computer vision models for Edge applications. Your work will focus on image labeling, building deep learning models, and refining the deep learning pipeline for real-time applications on NVIDIA Jetson platforms.

We are looking for someone who:

- Is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field

- Has experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar deep-learning frameworks

- Is familiar with the fundamentals of neural networks and computer vision

- Has experience with image labeling and dataset creation for machine learning

- Is excited to learn about Edge AI platforms like NVIDIA Jetson

- Demonstrates a passion for sustainable agriculture and environmental technology

Tasks you'll be involved in:

- Assisting in the development of deep learning models for real-time plant and non-plant classification

- Labeling images and preparing datasets for training

- Developing and optimizing the deep learning pipeline for Edge deployment

- Testing and improving the performance of models in field conditions

- Collaborating with the engineering team to integrate deep learning models into sensor systems

- Documenting the development process and creating technical reports
