The position

You will lead and develop a team of highly engaged scientists and lab technicians focused on formulation innovation, biophysical characterisation, automation and digitalisation efforts within Biophysics and Injectable Formulation. Your responsibilities will include driving innovation and generation of new project ideas related to biophysics and injectable formulation, aligning with stakeholders in the R&D organisation, setting the strategic direction and business targets for the department, developing people, and ensuring an inspiring and motivating working environment.

You will become part of a vibrant and dedicated management team, helping to set the direction for the Biophysics and Injectable Formulation section within the Biophysics and Formulation area. You will work to ensure flexible allocation of resources consistent with overall R&D priorities while keeping an eye on longer-term goals.

Qualifications
You hold a Ph.D. in natural sciences or life sciences and have at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or academia. The preferred candidate has a proven track record within biophysical characterisation, injectable drug delivery or formulation, as evidenced by publications/patents and an international network within the field. 

You have at least 1-2 years of people management experience and demonstrated strong leadership qualities. You exhibit excellent collaboration and communication skills and a clear commitment to creating winning teams with a focus on continuous people development. You possess a proactive and visible leadership style and the ability to set a clear direction in a complex environment. You display a high level of personal engagement, drive, independence and integrity.

About the department

The department consists of 13 highly skilled employees including 6 scientists at various levels of seniority and 7 experienced lab technicians. Together with two other departments, we form the Biophysics and Injectable Formulation within the CVP area Biophysics and Formulation. This CVP area is a central part of Global Research Technologies located in Måløv, Copenhagen area, Denmark. The CVP area is responsible for biophysical screening and early oral and injectable formulation development of peptide and protein compounds as well as other modalities across the entire Novo Nordisk research portfolio. We aspire to drive innovation by applying cutting-edge technology and formulation expertise, and we are currently transforming the way we work by implementing automated workflows and utilizing data science.
