Director, Business Intelligence

Role Purpose

The purpose of this Copenhagen-based business leader role is to originate and deliver complex intelligence and investigative mandates, and to grow a portfolio of Nordics-based client relationships. You will work in a high performing and established team of business intelligence practitioners, who are based in ten countries in the EMEA region, with regular engagement with other experts in our Copenhagen office, and our broader global network of offices and adjacent practice areas. The role reports to the head of the BI Europe team and the Partner responsible for our business in the Nordics.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Case management and network development

• Role model high quality scoping and execution of intelligence-led projects.
• Ensure consistently high standards of quality and client-relevance with our client deliverables.
• Constantly improve and develop our network.
• Pre-empt and manage risks associated with our work and mentor others in the practice on these considerations.

Business development

• Lead campaigns around different specialisms of business intelligence.
• Develop and grow client relationships through pro-active business development efforts with legal and corporate buyers, and innovate in response to client and industry developments.
• Develop relationships with associations and evaluate the best networks to raise awareness of our expertise.
• Collaborate with the business intelligence practice on client initiatives and the priorities of the Nordics region.

Training and mentoring

• Mentor and develop others in the practice on the scoping, pricing, delivery, and advisory aspects of higher value cases.
• Identify and make recommendations for how to address any improvements in our internal skills and capabilities.
• Promote an inclusive, collaborative environment between practice areas, offices, and regions.

Requirements

• Candidates will demonstrate that they know how to conduct detailed and relevant research for clients with various complex intelligence requirements; the ability to write and present concisely and convincingly; comfort with priorities changing in response to business and client requirements; and experience developing and delivering training for clients or colleagues on business intelligence and due diligence matters.
• Candidates will have a track record developing client relationships, particularly with law firms and corporate clients. Furthermore, candidates will have experience designing and implementing business development campaigns around specific themes and client requirements.
• Candidates will also have a firm understanding of the application of legal and compliance issues, and reputational and ethical considerations, affecting the business intelligence and investigations industry.
