The position
As a Director for Global Financial Risk you will be part of the Corporate Treasury management team with reference to the Corporate Vice President of Corporate Treasury. You will have the primary responsibility for the global cash management set-up and for mitigating financial risks in Novo Nordisk’s affiliates while balancing these with business opportunities and Novo Nordisk’s overall strategic direction.
Your responsibilities will include:
Being accountable for capital structure and financing of affiliates through internal or external debt, dealing with protectionism and sanctions, understanding credit risk and limiting trapped cash
Overseeing the continued optimisation of our global cash management set-up, ensuring a professional cooperation with the international banking sector and setting and executing Novo Nordisk’s bank strategy
Cooperating closely with our global organisation, senior management and our external banks
Setting the direction for 7 highly skilled and professional employees
Driving the strategic direction for Global Financial Risk, developing our global cash management set-up and setting the digital agenda for the area and in particular the In-House Bank, which is operated through our Shared Service Centre in India
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will have following qualifications:
MSc in Economics, Finance or other relevant fields
Plus 6 years of relevant finance experience working with financial risk management at Group and/or affiliate level
Solid leadership skills and a keen interest in people development
Ideally, proven excellent track record within Novo Nordisk along with people management experience
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, with proficiency in written and spoken English
On a personal level, you have strong analytical skills combined with a high level of drive, and ability of engaging your employees to ensure further development of their capabilities.
About the Department
You will be part of Corporate Treasury, located in our headquarters in Bagsværd, which is responsible for managing Novo Nordisk’s cash and liquidity while mitigating financial risks across the global organisation. The department consists of 23 dedicated employees and splits into 3 teams. Besides Global Financial Risk, Corporate Treasury also consist of Corporate Financial Risk, responsible for managing Novo Nordisk’s cash and financial risks at group level and the Insurance Risk Management team responsible for handling Novo Nordisk’s global insurance set-up.
