The primary responsibility of the Enterprise Architect is to establish the technology vision and strategic direction within the IT Lab of the Future (LoF) project, aiming to achieve a more robust, flexible, and efficient IT System Landscape capable of accommodating continual technological and business changes.
The Enterprise Architect will define and provide the architectural runway that supports both current and future needs.
Additionally, they will be responsible for conducting early architectural reviews on the IT solutions within the scope of the LoF project, and will participate in and support the translation of high-level needs into the IT substreams within the IT deliverables for the LoF project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an IT strategy that aligns with the LoF mission, vision, and goals
- Establish and maintain a roadmap for future IT investments
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to comprehend business objectives and translate them into technical requirements and solutions
- Design and oversee the implementation of IT systems and applications that support LoF processes and data management needs
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for the adoption of suitable platforms and tools
- Ensure that architectural solutions adhere to industry best practices, standards, and compliance requirements
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to sub stream teams throughout the software development lifecycle
- Demonstrate extensive experience in Lab/Industrial Automation, IT/OT infrastructure, and R&ED IT landscape
- Collaborate with life science industry/suppliers to grasp the trends in lab modernization and drive lab automation and transformation for future labs
- Participate in the development of the methodological apparatus for architecture (processes, tools, etc.)
- Contribute to the preparation of requirements specifications for and participate in tenders
- Identify and mitigate risks related to technology and system architecture.
- Works with Solution Architect and the Head of Architects to ensure that the target architecture is harmonized in accordance with the client's architecture principles
Core Compencies
- Broad understanding of modern IT Technology
- Experience with TOGAF, ZACHMAN, or similar architecture development methodologies
- Bsc. or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks
- Proficiency in system design, integration, and architectural patterns
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, APIs, and data management principles
