The position 

As the Environmental Management System Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our environmental management practices are robust, compliant, and forward-thinking. Your responsibilities will include: 

• Leading the revitalisation of the EMS according to ISO14001 and preparing decision papers to support system development 

• Following, updating, and communicating EMS requirements to internal stakeholders 

• Making the EMS easy to overview and access for users, considering future platforms and user needs 

• Developing, updating, and implementing environmental procedures and tools, ensuring they cover business needs and link to other systems and strategies 

• Facilitating workshops, drafting solutions for environmental initiatives, providing roadmaps for implementation, and creating communication plans 

• Coordinating with the audit team on internal and external audits and facilitating dialogue with the environmental process group/network 

Qualifications 

We are looking for a candidate who can fulfill most of the following requirements for this position: 

• A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science or a related field 

• At least 5 years of experience within environmental management systems 

• Knowledge of environmental legislation 

• Experience with ISO14001 standards 

• A structured and organised approach to work 

• Excellent communication skills and a curious, proactive mindset with the ability to develop and deliver EHS training programmes

You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for leading, managing, and performing the engineering operations of Novo Nordisk. We are committed to reducing accidents, minimizing emissions, and recycling waste. Our team consists of 8 very engaged environmental specialists responsible for a variety of environmental activities to ensure compliance with external regulations and internal policies. We support the organization with licenses to operate and subject matter expertise within environmental sustainability.
