The job position

With a strong ambition to further accelerate our profitable growth we are now looking for an additional Environmental Underwriter to our Commercial Lines underwriting team in Copenhagen – a team of in total 21 highly skilled and motivated underwriting professionals.

The role is based in Copenhagen and will focus on our Danish and Norwegian markets however as part of the Nordic Underwriting Team you will work closely with colleagues across the Nordic countries in all our business segments.

An environmental risk underwriter is a professional who assesses and analyzes potential risks associated with environmental factors and develops insurance policies to mitigate those risks. They evaluate various elements such as pollution, waste disposal, environmental accidents, natural disasters, and other environmental hazards that pose a threat to businesses and individuals.

In the role as Environmental Risks Underwriter, Commercial Lines your key focus will be;

Underwrite new and renewal business according to defined underwriting guidelines and local business plans

Manage the pipeline, profitability and risk of the Environmental business area

Review submissions, price and quote business

Review Engineering Surveys

Represent and promote Chubb to brokers.

Stay updated with changing environmental regulations and emerging risks.

You will ultimately report to the Nordic Environmental Risks Manager.

Your qualifications:

The ideal candidate could either be: An underwriter with 1-5 years’ experience in the industry not necessary within environmental and/orAn engineer specialized within environmental, geology, chemicals, or hydrology and/orA graduate from university who have studied environmental law or have other relevant academic qualifications.

Business experience from an international business environment is meriting

The candidate must be Fluent in Danish and/or another Nordic language and professional level in English

Demonstrated good communication and commercial skills

Team player who is willing to work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Self-driven and proactive with a “Can do attitude”

Proficient in MS Office tools and the ability to learn for this role relevant applications.
