On behalf of the worldwide French company Saint-Gobain, Basico is looking for a Finance Manager for the Danish commercial organisation with solid business acumen as well as strong financial and analytical skills to drive finance business partnering.

Job description

You will become part of the Nordic and Baltic’s CFO’s management team and will refer directly – and be a valuable discussion partner – to the Nordic and Baltic’s CFO as well as to the CEO and management team in Saint-Gobain Denmark.

Overall, you will have full financial responsibility for Saint-Gobain Denmark, and you will work closely with the commercial team to understand and support revenue and cost analysis.

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for leading and developing the Danish Finance function and a dedicated finance team of six employees. You will be expected to proactively drive and support business performance management and optimisation across the organisation. This includes securing a high degree of transparency in business performance and achievement of both operational goals and strategic milestones.

Moreover, you will develop and drive the reporting strategy for the performance management and the financial overview, and you will be collaborating with management on financial planning, analysis and performance measures and providing insights and recommendations to optimise costs and improve financial results.

Stakeholder management and in-depth business understanding are key parts of the job as you will interact with colleagues at all levels in the or­ganisation and work in a setup with virtual teams at various geographical locations.

Your key responsibilities

Main responsibilities and tasks will include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing, analysing and reporting weekly, monthly and annual financial reports
• Supporting the CFO with in-depth analysis and reporting
• Performing monthly reporting of actuals data, including meaningful commentary and variance analysis, in accordance with Group reporting requirements
• Implementing and overseeing internal financial controls and procedures
• Assisting in budget preparation and forecast processes
• Participating in strategic planning and decision-making processes to enhance financial performance
• Collaborating with management on financial planning, analysis and performance measures
• Providing insights and recommendations to optimise costs and improve financial results
• Internal control coordinator
• Participating in management and strategy meetings etc.

The position is based in Denmark at the Nordic & Baltic headquarters in Copenhagen.

Personal and professional qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent

• Several years’ relevant work experience from a similar role
• In addition, you have leadership experience
• Experience with finance business partnering driving performance management, creating financial overviews and presenting material to the management
• Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting
• Understanding of operations and investments, with the ability to translate technical concepts into financial analysis
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail combined with a solid business understanding
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in Danish preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and within BI. Experience working in SAP environments is an advantage.
