Are you ambitious and enthusiastic about managing grants with a global impact in a large philanthropic foundation? We are looking for a new colleague to join our Grant Management Area as a Grant Manager. The position is a maternity cover based in Hellerup, Denmark with an expected duration of 10 months.

As a Grant Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the professional handling of the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s grants. This includes setting up the right administrative framework for grants, drafting grant agreements, and more. You will play a key role as the backbone of the Foundation’s grant-awarding activities, working closely with colleagues across the Foundation to manage a portfolio of grants.

About the Job
Your work will focus on the pre-award phase and continue throughout the active grant period to ensure seamless administration of the Foundation’s grants.

The Foundation is currently experiencing rapid growth and an increased focus on internationalisation. Consequently, in addition to managing a portfolio of grants, you will also be contributing to refining our procedures and enhancing our ways of working.

Your key tasks will include:

  • Ensuring professional and seamless granting processes
  • Collaboration across the Foundation’s departments and with external stakeholders
  • Handling administrative tasks within the granting processes
  • Overseeing core elements of the Foundation’s open calls, such as committee evaluations and participation in committee meetings
  • Providing sound grant management advice and engaging proactively in project teams.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships related to grants, including interaction with our Legal, Finance, and Scientific departments

You will be part of the Grant Management Area that consists of 25 employees divided into teams. We value a dynamic and cross-functional working environment, where engagement and team spirit drive our activities. Working together as a dedicated team is key for us to provide the best service and solutions in everything we do.

Professional and Personal Qualifications

The ideal candidate has 5 years’ experience in grant management or project administration, particularly involving collaboration across scientific and administrative areas within an organisation. You may have worked in a foundation, university, research institute, other grant-receiving institution, or government office.

Furthermore, we expect that you have:

  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree from a university or business school
  • Administrative flair and relevant experience with grant administration, including managing budgets
  • Project management expertise
  • Experience of interacting with a broad range of stakeholders, preferably with research or scientific backgrounds
  • Expertise in Office 365
  • Fluent in Danish and English, both orally and in writing

As a person, you are motivated by working in a purpose-driven and fast-paced culture and have both the professional and personal commitment to make a positive impact in your work. You are motivated by running your own portfolio and are energised by working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

You thrive in a cross disciplinary environment and prefer the team centric way of working, while also being able to drive your own projects and deliverables. In addition, you have great interpersonal skills and a positive can-do attitude.
