Head of Commercial Products

As the Head of Commercial Products, you will be responsible for our installable add-ons to Umbraco, including Umbraco Commerce, Umbraco Engage, Umbraco Workflow, Umbraco Forms, Umbraco Deploy, and more. Additionally, your group oversees the Umbraco Marketplace, fosters community package development through the package community team, and drives innovation in our product ecosystem.

You will lead a distributed team of experienced developers and product managers who are deeply passionate about the Umbraco ecosystem. In collaboration with your product managers and the CTO, you will set the strategic direction for our commercial products and drive business objectives forward.

We are looking for an experienced leader based in a European-friendly timezone (working from our HQ in Denmark is an option but not required). You should have a commercial mindset, a people-oriented leadership style, and a strong technical understanding of extension-building for Umbraco.

As part of the leadership team, you will report directly to the CTO and work alongside four other Heads of Department, shaping the overall strategy and vision for our growing Product & Engineering department (>50 people).

This role offers significant responsibility and high flexibility in how you lead and structure your group. You can expect to travel to Denmark at least 3–4 times a year, with opportunities for more if desired.

We are seeking someone who:

• Has experience leading and managing teams.
• Has hands-on experience developing software.
• Has a proven track record of working with customers.
• Has successfully led projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Has knowledge of Umbraco CMS.

At Umbraco, we work with the below technologies. Knowledge and experience with these are a plus:

• .NET (C#) and ASP.NET Core – Our core CMS platform is built on Microsoft’s .NET framework.
• SQL Server and Azure SQL – We use SQL databases for content storage and management.
• Azure DevOps and GitHub – For CI/CD pipelines, source control, and collaboration.
• Docker and Kubernetes – We leverage containerization and orchestration for scalability.
• Headless CMS principles and APIs – Umbraco Heartcore and other API-based integrations.
• GraphQL and REST APIs – For data querying and integration with external services.

In addition to technical skills, we value collaboration across disciplines, empathy for users, and the ability to build a product with end-users in mind.

• Working hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
• Preferred start date: As soon as possible
• Location: On-site at Umbraco HQ in Odense, Denmark, or remote from where you live
