Within our Digital Engineering division, we build, deliver and integrate digital infrastructure, secure data and digital solutions to enable renewable energy production and reliable operations. As the primary provider of digital infrastructure and solutions within the Business Unit Offshore Wind, we oversee the whole value chain, from bid acquisition to asset construction and operation. Our focus lies on Operational Technology (OT) and IT, harnessing control and analytic modelling synergies to optimise engineering design through comprehensive data integration.

Cybersecurity remains paramount across our portfolio within BU Offshore Wind and other BA Wind business units, as we uphold the grand standards in this regard.

Presently, we seek a seasoned professional to assume the role of Head of Digital Project Engineering within the esteemed Digital Engineering Leadership team.

Your role / what will you do? 

As the Head of Digital Project Engineering, you will lead our Digital Engineering department, a one-stop-shop for all digital solutions, infrastructure, and data needs. Your primary responsibility is to act as the customer demand aggregator, prioritizing workload and tasks while assessing value and cost optimization opportunities based on business value within the portfolio.

In this role the focus is on realizing synergies and maximizing return on investments. You will establish a commercial mindset, ensure transparency, and manage stakeholders effectively. A key part of your role is to ensure we deliver on promises, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLA), and maintaining a high standard of delivery.

Your strategic approach will involve doing the right digital things and doing the digital things right. You will drive the maturation of the portfolio order book and processes, ensuring reliable resource planning, forecasting, and optimal utilization. Your leadership will foster a culture of accountability and excellence, ensuring that the digital solutions we deliver meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Leveraging your extensive experience in digital project management and engineering, you will guide your team to align with business objectives and customer needs. Your initial focus will be on building strong internal collaboration and championing cross-functional teams for a cohesive approach. Your strategic acumen and leadership competencies will be crucial in aligning managers and individual team members to foster a shared vision and collaborative culture.

Additionally, you will strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders within Vattenfall IT and our BA, enhancing operational efficiency and product delivery through agile methodologies. As a strategic and people-oriented leader, your expertise in digital engineering and sustainable value creation will drive your commitment to digital transformation and innovation. Aiming for project success and customer satisfaction throughout the entire lifecycle of our digital products. Digital Project Engineering will ensure complete deliveries through standard building blocks, products and services delivered according to business needs.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Strong Leadership: Lead the Digital Project Engineering team, ensuring it acts as a one-stop-shop for digital solutions, infrastructure, and data needs with a customer-centric mindset.
• Project Delivery: Deliver through other teams by assembling delivery via building blocks, products, and services. Oversee several project managers within the department who handle lifecycle and maintenance project deliveries, requiring planning and coordination with our sites for service windows.
• Portfolio Management: Ensure portfolio officers create portfolio overviews, prioritize, and utilize our capacity effectively. Drive SLA work with customers and suppliers to ensure commitments are met.
• Strategic Management: Act as the customer demand aggregator, prioritizing workload and tasks while assessing value and cost optimization opportunities. Drive the maturation of the portfolio order book and processes for reliable resource planning, forecasting, and optimal utilization.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure standard building blocks, products, and services are delivered according to business needs. Ensure transparency, report development, and manage budget responsibilities.
• Solution Architecture: Collaborate with the solution architect to ensure delivery of solid solutions according to governance, compliance, and our digital roadmap.
• Lifecycle Management: Oversee lifecycle and maintenance project deliveries, requiring planning and coordination with our sites for service windows.
• Governance and Compliance: Ensure solutions adhere to governance and compliance standards, supporting our digital roadmap.
• Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within Vattenfall IT and other BAs.

Your profile / who are you?

Through adept stakeholder management and a steadfast commitment to delivering on promises, this individual will ensure high standards of quality and efficiency in digital solutions, thereby contributing to the overall success of the organization. As our Head of Digital Project Engineering, you will bring:

• Ability to build strong relationships to influence the agenda also without formal authority.
• You have an engineering university degree (M.Sc. or PhD) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience including experience in leadership.
• You command English in both verbal and written form.
• You possess a positive mindset and see opportunities with a “glass half full” approach to your work.
• You are highly motivated and communicative with enthusiasm and can be a role model for our technical specialist.
• Thriving leadership in turbulent times
• Business understanding and a commercial mindset.
• Experience with renewable energy technologies and surveillance
