Continia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Legal and Compliance to lead our efforts in navigating regulatory landscapes, ensuring robust compliance across our operations and evolving our legal agreement framework. About your role
You will be pivotal in ensuring Continia's adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks, enhancing our compliance initiatives, and providing strategic legal advice across the organization. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of legal integrity and compliance.
Continia provides software for accounts payable automation, expense management solutions, and bank integration to more than 20,000 customers worldwide. You will be instrumental in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our software and customer data, as well as compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including GDPR, ISO 27001, and CIS8.
What you will be doing:
Lead and mentor the legal and compliance team.
Oversee all legal and compliance matters, including KYC/KYB, data privacy, and information security.
Evolve our compliance program, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, CIS8).
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulations, and update the compliance program accordingly.
Maintain a solid legal framework for all standard legal documents, such as SaaS Terms of Use, Partner Agreements, and End-Customer Agreements, ensuring they are always up-to-date and aligned with products, industry best practices, and relevant regulations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance across all departments.
Oversee all legal agreements and documentation for Continia's offices in 7 countries, providing guidance and support on legal matters in those regions as needed.
Engage with regulatory bodies and industry groups to anticipate compliance trends and prepare the organization accordingly.

About you
We're looking for a proactive, results-oriented leader with a strong work ethic and a passion for compliance. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
We imagine you have the following qualifications and characteristics:
A law degree and relevant professional qualifications.
8+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an international company or financial institution. Experience in the EU tech sector is highly beneficial.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS8 is an advantage.
Knowledge of PCI DSS is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
