The role
The Head of Spare Parts in Denmark has global responsibility for the sales strategy and implementation for marine and power plant segments, specifically focusing on two-stroke and four-stroke engines, in close cooperation with our international group companies to achieve this.

Head of Spare Part Sales in Denmark plays a critical role in maintaining and strengthening the company’s market-leading position in the industry. Being responsible for overseeing the sale of parts related to MAN products, including two-stroke engines, four-stroke engines, propellers, and associated technologies. The primary goal is to ensure efficient and reliable operation for end users.

The position has the obligation to achieve maximum customer satisfaction by continuous product/service development and global responsiveness within Spare Parts sales which includes cooperation with and support to the global organization. Additionally, this function is also responsible for developing and improving processes within the business area. This includes digitalization of processes (Software robots), data utilization, Electronic data interchange usage, product management, and promotion of new products.

The position is a vital part of the sales and operational planning and forecasting of sales and demand.

The head of Spare Part Sales is a member of the management team at PrimeServ Denmark, the position leads the Spare Parts unit at sites in Copenhagen, Holeby, and Frederikshavn (120 Employees) and Spare Part teams in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Dubai, Greece and Houston (60 employees).

You will play an important role in:
Leading a dedicated and professional, highly diverse, and international management team and staff of ~120 employees located in the Danish Product centers Copenhagen, Holeby, and Frederikshavn.  Additionally leading appr. 60 employees globally mainly in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur Dubai, Pireaus, and Houston.

Overall professional and disciplinary management of Spare Parts DK to profitably grow revenue and EBIT. Responsible for the execution of appraisal talks and economic target follow-up for the Spare Parts DK management group and all other employees within Spare Parts DK including decentralized employees

Secure the overall strategy incl. implementation of Spare Parts sales, incl. executing strategic value-creating programs to maintain a continuous business development covering, sales, product management, claims handling, customer support, etc.

The function sets standards, guidelines, and advice for all +100 worldwide service hubs in all Spare-related matters to the MAN Danish Brands, like global list prices, global discount policy, terms & conditions, overdue management, internal trading rules warranty and claim management, frame agreement, and Customer support.

As a member of the PrimeServ Management continuously follows the after-sales operations/results worldwide within PrimeServ Denmark and actively contributes to the worldwide profitable growth of MAN. Further to participate in the development of the MAN PrimeServ strategy and the following implementation.

Responsible for the sales forecasting and product management for 3 product groups, 2st, 4st genset, and 4st propulsion (incl. Propeller), securing the demand for the supply chain is in place. This also includes the promotion of products and sales of old parts to bring down stock values securing proper working capital levels.

Attract and retain customers in all markets served with a primary role in meeting/final negotiations with our top customers

We imagine that you:

  • Have experience in leading leaders and an organization  of +100 employees within an international and complex matrix organization
  • Have pronounced leadership skills with a strong focus on collaboration
  • Have an international mindset and intercultural awareness, esp. in East Asia. Our customers are located worldwide and MAN ES is a highly diverse business with employees from more than 40 different countries at the HQ in Copenhagen
  • Communicate in English fluently and if you also can speak Danish it will be an advantage.
  • Have a solid sales background in the relevant field to understand the market
  • Have knowledge of contractual obligations and business terms & conditions
  • Have a strong process and execution focus to manage a large sales organization in a result-oriented way
  • Preferably know the technical side of the shipping industry
  • Preferably have a bachelor/Master of Science in engineering. And if you have a Leadership/Management education in addition this will be an advantage
