Head of Transport & Installation

Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position as Head of Transport & Installation Engineering reporting to the Head of Offshore Project Execution, within Project Delivery & Engineering in Business Area Wind.

Project Delivery & Engineering is responsible for the development and execution of our construction projects. We are in the centre of making a fossil-free future become reality by delivering some of the largest infrastructure projects in the world safely, timely, of high quality and within budget in a complex and dynamic environment.

As Head of the T&I Engineering department, you will be responsible for the development of a team of highly skilled T&I engineers in the field of Offshore transport and installation. You will be the line manager for all T&I engineers responsible for development of transport & installation concepts of future Vattenfall Offshore Wind projects. You will be setting a clear strategy and targets for your team and define, develop and maintain the competences in the field of T&I engineering and insure high employee engagement. 

You will interact with all the Engineering Managers as well as Installation and Package Managers. You will also have a strong interface and collaboration with the Product Portfolio Directors driving the product development for new projects.

As Head of T&I Engineering you will have the following key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a clear and transparent strategy for the T&I Engineering team including detailed competence and development strategy for the department and the technical area.
• Overall responsible for the plan, allocation and recruitment of resources, skillsets and necessary competences in line with Vattenfall’s Offshore Wind pipeline
• Drive engagement of the team to ensure high performance and a low employee turnover
• Promote and exercise technical authority. Update and develop our technical standards and support technical decision-making within the area of Transport & Installation.
• Overall allocation and coordination of team tasks and/or projects of the team
• Setting the standard for T&I engineering in each Asset project package.
• Sourcing and management of External Contractors and External Engineering Services (related to the scope of the department).
• Keep up and further increase the focus on health and safety in all we do.

What we are looking for:

• You have a university degree (or equal) with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience as a leader in an international organisation
• You are heavily engaged in and motivated by people development.
• You have extensive knowledge of Transport & Installation tools & methodologies
• You are proven skilled in dealing with strategic, highly complex issues, problems and challenges
• You are a highly motivated and communicative leader who is able to focus on both people and business
• You are proven skilled in dealing with strategic, highly complex issues, problems and challenges
• Health and safety leadership is a natural priority for you
• Your command of English is strong, both verbally and written.

Location

The location of this position is flexible, preferably in Solna, Amsterdam or Kolding. Depending on the location of our upcoming projects, a large extent of business travels can be required.
