About FLC:
At Femern Link Contractors (FLC), we are responsible for designing and constructing the immersed tunnel, portals and ramps on both ends of the tunnel, in Rødbyhavn and Puttgarden.
We are also building the facilities for prefabricating tunnel elements as well as accommodation facilities, also known as the “Tunnel village” in Rødbyhavn, which provides housing for FLC workers.
About the department:
The Marine department has five main activities on the project which is trench cleaning, gravel bed installation, tunnel element transport and immersion, trench backfill and protection layer. Different assigned vessels will handle the work and the HRD Crew Manager Marine must ensure the manning of the Marine offshore and onshore fleet both on Lolland and Fehmarn construction sites. The current fleet consists of multipurpose pontoon, spreader pontoon, protection layer pontoon, immersion pontoons and auxiliary equipment.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Manage full compliance to the requirements stated in the Owner’s Policies and Procedures.
- Report frequent progress of the job specific task and challenges to HR Manager and Marine Operations Manager.
- Responsible for building up a crew pool and subsequent ensuring all FLC vessels are always manned with competent crew while complying with Danish, German and international regulations wherever applicable, and FLC company procedures.
- Actively integrate and participate in the existing FLC HR taking care of all overall project HR related topics, including payroll.
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day operational matters, including but not limited to accommodation, transport, logistics and welfare regarding crew offshore and onshore.
- Build up project efficient rotation system considering local and international legislation, to support to the continuation of the operations and related challenges for working 24/7 both in Germany and Denmark.
- Setup HRD CREW management systems and implement the required crew policies.
- Setup Training matrices and resource the applicable training facilities and courses.
- Support the Project team in local labor and immigration law knowledge for both German and Danish legislations.
- Facilitate and or participate in regular meetings with the various authorities and unions on both German and Danish territory.
- Support of the Project team on providing solid knowledge of maritime policies, rules and regulations both on a local and international level (e.g. ISM, MLC, CBA, STCW, POEA).
- Manage and record regular crew evaluations following a proactive and cooperative attitude, in an open and constructive manner.
- Stimulate a project driven ‘can do’ mentality and build up highly motivated teams.
- Support the Project team in local labor and immigration law knowledge for both German and Danish legislations.
- Facilitate and or participate in regular meetings with the various authorities and unions on both German and Danish territory.
- Support of the Project team on providing solid knowledge of maritime policies, rules and regulations both on a local and international level (e.g. ISM, MLC, CBA, STCW, POEA).
- Manage and record regular crew evaluations following a proactive and cooperative attitude, in an open and constructive manner.
- Stimulate a project driven ‘can do’ mentality and build up highly motivated teams.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has the capacity to manage different priorities and is people oriented with at least 8 years of relevant work experience in the field of crewing operations. The right candidate holds a relevant educational background in Maritime Studies. Furthermore, the candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Thorough local labor and immigration law knowledge for both German and Danish legislations, or at least knows where to find the correct info (local lawyers, local immigration firms, etc.).
- Clear understanding on how local unions or works councils work and has the right contacts and/or experience in dealing with local unions both for the German and Danish side of the project.
- Solid knowledge of maritime policies, rules and regulations both on a local and international level (e.g. ISM, MLC, CBA, STCW, POEA).
- Have solid knowledge of the international maritime industry.
- Understanding of internal and client training and other operational and documentary requirements.
- Experience in working with crew/workmen and knows how to manage them.
- Possess a ‘can do’ mentality and has the ability of building up a highly motivated team.
- Proactive and positive attitude, enthusiasm and ability to cooperate in an always open and constructive manner.
- Strong natural drive for results, excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to cooperate and align with the FLC Marine team, the HR team and the rest of the organization.
