JOB DESCRIPTION:
We’re looking for a Junior Fashion Designer and Production Assistant to join our dynamic team in Copenhagen. This person will be a highly motivated self-starter with a background in fashion design and interest in fashion production. They must possess experience and knowledge within and pertaining to the Asia-Pacific market, being from or having resided in this region for a minimum of 5+ years. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production:
- Assist in overseeing the prototype and sampling process
- Manage all samples to ensure their movement through the product development process in coordination with the development calendar
- Creating files for streamlined production processes with factories
- Fitting and commenting on collection samples to identify and resolve production issues
- Daily communication with factories
- Securing measurement charts and product specs for new products in alignment with the factories
- Frequent travel to Turkey, Portugal, and France for essential production checks and meetings
- Overseeing shipping and logistics of incoming and outgoing trims, lab dips, prototypes, and samples
- Conducting collection presentations with Baserange’s Asia/Pacific stakeholders
Design:
- Collection research and development knowledge specific to brand’s Asia-Pacific market
- Researching new processes, techniques and technologies
- Development of collection drawings
- Creating maps for seasonal collections
- Using specialist CAD software to create detailed technical illustrations & spec sheets
- Sourcing of trims
- Assist in the preparation of seasonal colour cards
- Conduct quarterly meetings with Baserange’s Asia-Pacific stakeholders to gain feedback on collections
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Fashion Design
- 1 years experience working within the fashion industry, preferably with sales and buying knowledge
- Strong command of both spoken and written English, highest fluency or mother tongue
- Proficient in CAD systems; Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to travel minimum 2+ times per season
- Related background and/or experience within the Asia-Pacific market, being from or having resided in this region for a minimum of 5+ years
- Thorough knowledge of textile materials and their potential application, including sustainable materials
- Trained in patternmaking and garment construction
