Knitwear Designer – Menswear & Womenswear

Samsøe Samsøe is looking for a Knitwear Designer who will be responsible for the entire knitwear line from menswear to womenswear, from the first design and the sourcing and development process all the way to production stage. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing all knitwear collections on menswear and womenswear
• Designing the 4 annual collections, Basic line and potentially also Express/Exclusive capsules
• Managing the entire development process and ensuring that all deadlines for raw materials, samples, fitting, and pricing are met
• Closing the dialog with pattern design, the production team, and the sales team
• Working towards our sustainability goals and implementing our Materials Strategy on the knitwear collection
• Supporting with general design-related task within the department
• Being updated on trends and new tendencies and in general what is going on in the marked
• Taking part in inspiration and supplier trips, researching new yarns, stitches, details, and silhouettes
• Participating in design trend workshop, input for mood boards, prints and colours
• Sourcing yarns, sketching in Adobe Illustrator, allocating colours, and creating knit stitching instructions
• Collaborating closely with buyers for sourcing, pricing and development
• Creating all style setups in our PLM-system

YOUR PROFILE

• Creative, with extensive knowledge of knit techniques & design process
• Experience in knitwear design for both womenswear and menswear
• Organised & self-sufficient
• High proficiency in all Adobe applications
• International experience is appreciated, but not a requirement
