A lab technician position is available from May 1st, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, in the laboratory of Group Leader Taro Kitazawa at DANDRITE and the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University.
The initial contract is one year with the possibility of an extension.
Taro Kitazawa’s research focus is on understanding epigenetic and transcriptional mechanisms of memory engram cells using rodents as model organisms.
The lab is in the buildings of Dept. Molecular Biology and Genetics in the University City. It is part of a dynamic and well-established research environment with many colleagues.
Job descriptionYour job responsibilities will both be research supporting and routine tasks. Examples are:
- Mouse biopsy and genotyping
- Experiments (e.g. DNA work, histology, mouse work, virus production)
- Preparation of experimental protocols
- Training of new people on lab practices
- Maintenance of lab safety
- Ordering and invoice management and shipment of materials
- Organizing lab supplies
- Preparing buffers and cell media for common use
- Autoclaving of bottles/flasks and garbage, waste treatment,
Your profileYou are a trained laboratory technician or something equivalent. We expect you to have good skills in oral and written English and Danish. It is an advantage for you if you have prior experience with procedures at Aarhus University.
It is important that you are independent and responsible and have good collaboration skills. You will be working with people of many different nationalities and at different stages of training so good communication skills and being service-minded is essential.

Who are we?The Danish Research Institute of Translational Neuroscience (DANDRITE) is the Danish node of the
Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine and is hosted by Aarhus University and funded by the Lundbeck Foundation.
