We are looking for a lab technician to join the Laboratory for Integrative Biomedicine Our research Our research focus on metagenomics and its application in different areas such as obesity and diabetes, animal health, and soil microorganisms and plant growth. Many of our projects aim to elucidate the interplay of naturally occurring microorganisms and their hosts. As a part of this, we are involved in animal and human intervention studies investigating the connection between health status and the metagenome.
The position We are looking for a quality minded lab technician with knowledge to run sequencing projects from end-to-end including initial planning, execution and reporting of results. Tasks include:
Handling and aliquoting incoming samples, including fecal samples.
Operation of robots for purification of DNA/RNA and manual purification of DNA from various projects.
Preparation of samples for sequencing and running in the sequencing process.
Tasks that support the laboratory and the unit's daily operations will also be included.
Your Profile You are highly engaged and quality-minded and have a basic molecular knowledge of relevant techniques You have extensive experience in setup, optimization and troubleshooting of sequencing projects. You have well-developed collaborative skills and ready to take responsibility of given tasks and is capable of managing projects by yourself and perform long-term plan of the lab activities.
You also have:
- A relevant education as laboratory technician or similar.
- Active interest in sequencing technology
- Good English language skills, written and spoken
- Well-developed collaborative skills and structured mind.

Terms of salary and employment The employment is a full-time position for minimum 1 year with the possibility of extension. Start date is as soon as possible. Salary is decided based on qualifications and according the university’s regulations.
Employment as laboratory technician will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT.
