The Schjoldager laboratory in the Copenhagen Center for Glycomics at the Department for Cellular and Molecular Medicine is seeking a motivated laboratory assistant 6 hours per week. The position is permanent and available from 1 April 2025 or after agreement.
Background The Schjoldager lab drives research projects related to discovery and dissection of biological functions of protein glycosylation with focus on identification of specific molecular functions of glycoproteins and glycoconjugates that impact human physiology and common diseases and dispositions to disease. Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine.
Scientific environment The
Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (ICMM) offers an ambitious scientific environment, with many different nationalities represented. ICMM aims to produce research with high international impact focusing on the functional cell, its genetic components and molecular cellular mechanisms in a medical context. ICMM currently comprises five research programmes, three high profile Research Centers as well as a number of international research groups
Job tasks The tasks performed will vary from week-to-week, but will include:
- Maintaining stocks of supplies and consumables for general lab areas.
- Creating buffer stock solutions for protein purification work.
- Assistance for specific experiments, e.g. labelling vials.
- Cataloguing reagents and antibodies.
Profile We are looking for a Laboratory assistant with following characteristics:
- Basic laboratory experience is a must, including knowledge about safety procedures.
- Good communication skills in English is preferred.
- Flexible in relation to working hours.
- Experience with working in Excel.
Terms of employment The position will be monthly paid and is placed in salary group 1. The employment as a Laboratory assistant will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and OAO/HK STAT.
It is expected that the selected candidate is flexible with respect to working hours, but a maximum of 6 hours a week on average across 1-2 days is preferred.
