The position
As a Laboratory Technician in Mammalian Expression Engineering, you will collaborate closely with other skilled laboratory technicians within the department to ensure efficient execution of major workflows utilizing mammalian cells for protein expression. You will also be responsible for executing experiments planned in collaboration with skilled scientists and for data handling and documentation of the experiments.
Your main responsibilities are summarized as follows:
• Cultivation of mammalian suspension cell lines including transient transfection and harvest.
• Preparation and analysis of DNA for transfection.
• Analysis of protein samples using techniques such as SDS-page and Bio-Layer Interfer-ometry.
• Data handling and documentation of experiments.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in the role you should have:
• An education as Laboratory technician or equivalent.
• Thorough hands-on experience with cultivation of mammalian suspension cells and transient protein production, including standard molecular biology methods
• Experience with pool generation, batch and fed-batch cultivation.
• Experience with or interest in automation using liquid handlers.
• Knowledge within cell line development is beneficial.

About the department
The Mammalian Expression Engineering department is part of the Expression Engineering Re-search area, which is comprised of three departments focus on both microbial and mammalian expression technologies. Together, these departments are responsible for recombinant pro-tein engineering and expression, strain development and cell line development. Our broad range of capabilities allows us to tackle complex research challenges and develop innovative solutions in the field of protein expression and engineering.
The Expression Engineering Research area is part of the Recombinant Drug Research area, where we collaborate across the full research value chain to discover and advance innovative recombinant protein and peptide therapeutic candidates. RDR maintains a vibrant scientific culture and seamlessly connects broad competences across multidisciplinary teams that are motivated by revolutionizing development of innovative therapies to treat a wide range of se-rious chronic diseases.
