The position
As a member of the Research team, your primary responsibilities will involve contributing to the development of novel peptide- and protein-based products for cell culture, stem cells, and oligonucleotide-based products.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Maintain and manage mammalian cell cultures, including harvesting and cryopreservation.
• Perform cell-based assays such as viability, proliferation, and toxicity tests.
• Develop technical protocols, reports, and support development activities.
• Set up, sterilize, calibrate, and monitor lab equipment while ensuring stock levels and supplies.
• Conduct risk assessments and report on experimental progress and results.
You will play an essential role in testing new raw materials on stem and immortalized cell lines, maintaining cell lines over time, and standardizing cell culture techniques at NNPR. In addition, you will be responsible for daily work planning, conducting analyses, and evaluating results. Documenting and reporting your scientific work, as well as sharing your findings with the research team, project teams, and other colleagues, will also be part of your role.
Collaboration with other laboratory technicians and scientists within the team and department is essential.
Please note that this position may occasionally require weekend work, depending on operational needs.
Qualifications
You must be educated as a laboratory technician (Laborant), with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience preferred.
The following skills are a requirement:
• Experience in a cell culture laboratory environment, using either 2D or 3D cultures (preferably both)
• Experience in mammalian and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
• Theoretical knowledge in cell biology, molecular biology; aseptic technique, adherence to sterility
• Great communication skills
• Fluent written and oral English.
You are a strong team player with courage to explore new methods in the laboratory and share knowledge with your colleagues. You have interest in improving the potential of stem cells as a therapeutic tool. You have flair for troubleshooting and working well independently.
About the Department
The R&D Research team is responsible for the innovation of new products within enzymes and proteins/peptides. We consist of 9 highly motivated and skilled scientist and laboratory technicians; our focus is on products for API manufacturing in a broad perspective and specifically for the ATMP market. We work closely with R&D Manufacturing Development and several close collaborators at Novo Nordisk A/S.
