Laboratory Technician Position

We are looking for a full-time laboratory technician to join Professor Amelia Rotaru’s team within the largest section Nordcee, at the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science, University of Southern Denmark.

The lab conducts research in applied and environmental microbiology with a particular focus on electroactive microorganisms, microbe-mineral/metal, or interspecies interactions.

We use electrochemistry, molecular biology, expression studies, genetics, and high-resolution microscopy tools to understand fundamental aspects of how microorganisms interact with their extracellular environment.

Requirements:

• A lab technician education 
• Extensive experience with electrochemistry reactor setups 
• Experience with various types of chromatography for gas and liquid samples
• Experience with DNA extractions from low biomass environmental samples
• Experience with teaching and training of biology students 
• Experience with organizing lab courses 
• Good organization skills in the lab
• Willingness to learn new methods and develop standards of practice for the lab
