Role Overview

As a Lead Developer at Monthio, you will guide a team of talented software engineers in building and maintaining our innovative creditworthiness solutions, transforming the financial industry. This senior-level role requires 10+ years of experience and a strong foundation in software development best practices, as well as leadership capabilities. As a hands-on leader, you will balance contributing to the codebase (approximately 60%) with mentoring and supporting team members (approximately 40%), helping to shape Monthio’s technical direction. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive impactful, high-quality solutions in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of developers, offering technical guidance, code reviews, and fostering their professional growth.

• Promote a culture of collaboration and innovation, encouraging continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Facilitate agile ceremonies and actively participate in team processes, including ticket creation, requirements gathering, and estimation.

• Establish and refine operational processes, such as sprint planning, incident management, and customer support workflows.

Technical Contributions

• Define and communicate the technical vision, ensuring alignment with Monthio's strategic goals and scalability needs.

• Design and develop software solutions, writing high-quality, maintainable code primarily in C# and other relevant technologies.

• Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices to enhance code quality and maintainability.

• Engage in architectural discussions and decisions, contributing technical expertise to influence system design and development standards.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with product managers to understand business requirements, prioritize tasks, and establish realistic timelines.

• Effectively communicate decisions and updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

• Work closely with other teams, including data science, DevOps, and customer support, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of solutions that meet client needs.

• Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring that solutions meet the needs of end-users and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software development, with proficiency in C# and .NET.

• Familiarity with cloud environments, especially Azure.

• Proven experience leading and mentoring development teams, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.

• Deep understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and best practices for scalable, maintainable applications.

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to work closely with customers and commercial stakeholders, and to handle a dynamic influx of requirements and changes.

• Danish isn't a requirement, as we are an English-speaking office (although some of us like to practice our newly acquired Danish skills at the coffee machine :)).
