You will become part of our HPC & Hybrid Cloud Engineering department located in Måløv, Denmark. The department currently consists of 17 engineers and is building up additional capabilities and capacity. The department is part of Digital Data & IT Research & Early Development, which consists of more than 195 skilled colleagues located in Måløv, Bangalore, Boston, Beijing, and Oxford.
We are responsible for major IT systems and projects in Novo Nordisk, as well as the scientific IT infrastructure in Research & Early Development. We take pride in being experts in IT infrastructure and platforms, and at the same time having experience and understanding of how our researchers use the platforms, data, and compute power we make available.
Your journey at Novo Nordisk
As our new HPC Engineer, you will be working in various Scrum and DevOps teams (5-10 members) with different projects and HPC products. Working in Scrum and DevOps teams means you will develop and build features. You will solve system issues, change requests, and perform maintenance in collaboration with our scientific users.
Our scientific users are situated globally, and you will be working in an international environment with colleagues around the globe.

The skills we hope to see
We’re seeking a candidate with a high passion for working with HPC environments and having experience working with cloud and on-premises platforms. This is a perfect role for a person who is excited to be hands-on, work with new technologies and is able to quickly learn new concepts.
To be an ideal candidate, we imagine you have a degree with focus on IT systems engineering, computer science, scientific computing or similar combined with experience within the high performance computing or similar fields, e.g. with a system including Infiniband networking.
To thrive in this role, you also have previous experience with most of the following:
Additionally, you have deep knowledge and understanding of the Linux operating system, and can use this to profile, performance tune, and debug workloads. You also have expertise in DevOps principles and configuration management such as automation, infrastructure/configuration as code, CI/CD amongst others.
We work with various tools and technologies, so it would be an advantage to have knowledge of the following: SLURM, CDK, Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, Karpenter, Helm, GPU and network operators, MLFlow, Kubeflow, Spark, Flink.
As a person you are highly structured and organized, self-driven, proactive, and responsible. Furthermore, you are team-oriented and have a strong personal drive to achieve goals. We expect you to be service-minded and thrive in a busy environment. Finally, you have professional proficiency in written and spoken English to succeed in international stakeholders environment.
