AIG is looking to strengthen our Nordic Mergers & Acquisitions (“M&A”) underwriting team with a skilled and motivated professional who brings documented experience in the transactional M&A sphere. This position, based in our centrally located Copenhagen office, serves client across the Nordic region - Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden – as well as the Netherlands.

As an M&A Underwriter, you will play a critical role in analysing legal and commercials risks associated with M&A transactions and providing tailored insurance solutions to meet client objectives. Your responsibilities include:
Underwriting corporate transaction risks, including warranties, indemnities, litigation buyouts, and contingent risks.
Collaborating with the M&A team to deliver bespoke transaction insurance documents on time.
Conducting in-depth legal and commercial reviews of due diligence reports in coordination with external counsel.
Managing relationships with brokers, lawyers, and clients to maintain and grow business opportunities.
Developing innovative insurance products and strategies to expand AIG’s presence in the Nordics and the Netherlands.
Driving new business development while fostering strong broker and client partnerships.
We are looking for a candidate with:
A university degree in law, economics, or a combination of both.
Some years of experience in M&A transactions, whether through an international law firm, a corporate environment, or other relevant settings.
Strong knowledge of M&A processes and the ability to assess and navigate legal and commercial risks.
Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language (additional Nordic languages or Dutch are a plus).
High resilience, enthusiasm, creative thinking, and a positive, flexible mindset, especially when handling tight deadlines.
The European M&A team consists of c. 35 professionals spread across key cities, including Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Rotterdam, Stockholm, and Vienna.
