In the role as Materials & Reliability Development Specialist you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer.
The main mission of the role is to proactively improve the reliability of our products while they are being developed. If flaws in existing products are discovered, your findings will be used to create new standards for our production and product development.
You will collaborate closely with material experts, design & development, quality engineers, global production and you will also have an interface to external suppliers.
We offer you freedom to utilize your areas of expertise in the role with the possibility to spend time in the lab to use test methods, as well as describing and implementing them.
The team you will be part of
At GN's Headquarter in Ballerup, our Materials & Reliability Development department is a team of 17. The department's work is to ensure the biological safety, durability, and quality of our medical devices. Here, you will become part of a team united in the ambition to support the business promptly and efficiently through advanced biological evaluations.
Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:
Conduct root cause analysis and define development projects based on the results
Conduct exploratory and requirement-based testing and develop new testing procedures: climatic, environmental, reliability, (electro)chemical testing
Conduct literature search and review of new technologies from the field of materials, corrosion, and electronics reliability
Advance the technical aspects of development projects and implement new technologies
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have:
An engineering degree within chemistry, corrosion, materials, electronics, biomedical engineering, or mechanics
Aptitude to learn new technologies and methods
A collaborative mindset and find it easy to communicate with colleagues with other professional backgrounds
Systematic problem-solving skills
A structured approach with an eye for standards and documentation, which makes it easy for you to work in a highly regulated industry.
A holistic view of reliability and use it to make good judgments about trade-offs in designs in relation to impact on the end user
Ability to translate industry standards into product requirements and test implementation
Proficiency in written and spoken English
