PerPlant is a deep-tech startup with the goal of assisting farmers in transitioning to sustainable agriculture through the use of AI and sensor technology. We develop tractor-mounted smart camera systems that enable farmers to monitor their fields in real-time for pest pressure and analyze plant health levels. This helps farmers gain insights on where and how much to spray chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers, reducing chemical costs and mitigating their negative impacts on the environment, human health, biodiversity, and climate. In this role, you will develop and implement cutting-edge computer vision algorithms for Edge applications. You will focus on real-time plant count, crop type and stage classification, non-crop area classification and localization (sand spots, stones, water suffering areas, tractor tracks, field boundaries), weed detection, and other related tasks.
As a Mechatronics Student Intern, you will play a crucial role in developing fast camera prototypes using NVIDIA Jetson platforms. This position offers hands-on experience in cutting-edge technology and robotics applications.
Is currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field
Has experience programming in Python and C++ and ROS2
Possesses basic knowledge of NVIDIA Jetson platforms
Has hands-on experience with soldering and assembling electronic components
Demonstrates familiarity with various types of sensors and their integration
Shows enthusiasm for learning and working with emerging technologies
Assisting in the design and assembly of camera prototypes using NVIDIA Jetson
Writing and optimizing code in Python and C++ for image processing and sensor integration
Soldering and assembling various sensors for prototype development
Collaborating with the team to test and improve prototype performance
Documenting the development process and creating technical reports
Hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology in agricultural robotics
Mentorship from experienced engineers in the field
