Are you an expert in analytical chemistry and metabolomics that would be excited about supporting cutting-edge research within the fields of nutrition, microbiome and health? We are looking for a dedicated candidate with high technical expertise that would be thrilled to maintain and develop our liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based metabolomics infrastructure and engage with a collaborative, dynamic and ambitious research team.
The position is available from 1 April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The position and responsibilities
The metabolomics platform manager’s duties will primarily include maintenance and development of our LC-MS-based metabolomics infrastructure. This includes day-to-day maintenance of LC-MS instruments, trouble shooting, implementation and development of methods and standard operating procedures, as well as coordination of metabolomics analyses in close collaboration with colleagues. The metabolomics manager is also expected to contribute to the training of students and staff in LC-MS and metabolomics. Moreover, the Metabolomics Platform Manager will interact with bioanalysts on ad-hoc laboratory tasks.
The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate is a team player with a very strong drive and several years of experience in metabolomics.

The research environment
You will be part of the Nutrition, Microbiome and Metabolomics Research Group headed by Associate Professor Henrik Munch Roager at Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen. We offer a dynamic, sociable, collaborative, and international environment with several exiting ongoing projects. The group conducts metabolomics and cohort- and intervention studies concerning nutrition, microbiome, and health.
The research group is also affiliated to the Copenhagen Gut Microbiome Hub, which brings together the region’s leading scientists, researchers and industry professionals dedicated to leverage the gut microbiome to improve health.

Terms of salary and employment
The appointment as Metabolomics Platform Manager is positioned as Special Consultant and is a full-time position for 3 years. The start date is 1 April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Working hours will be 37 hours per week on average.
Employment will be in accordance with The Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and Akademikerne (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Furthermore, there is a possibility to negotiate supplements based on qualifications and experience.
