Overview

The main purpose of this role is to develop PepsiCo’s Franchise Beverage business within Northern Europe to maximise geographical opportunities and synergies focusing on market share and profit growth.

  • This role will Lead, direct, and control the activities of Northern Europe so that it achieves the short and long-term financial and operating objectives (revenues, profitability, market share, etc.) as set by the overall corporate business plan.
  • Leads, aligns and motivates MU team to achieve objectives set in PSP and AOP while building capability for future growth and conducting operations in a highly ethical manner and consistent with PepsiCo values.
  • The GM represents the company in the relevant industry/ authorities that will promote the reputation of PepsiCo and ensure market compliance.
  • The role will also take the new responsibility of leading Belgium, Gatorade Germany/Austria/Switzerland.

    Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for leading the profitable growth of PepsiCo’s businesses across Beverages with full P&L responsibility and accountability for a cross-functional team
  • Develop a sustainable business strategy for PepsiCo Northern Europe FOBO . Establish a winning commercial growth agenda. Create a superior portfolio management
  • Accountable for the development of all distributor and bottler relationships – support bottler/distributor negotiations with key trade customers. Transform customer relationship to best-in-class
  • Create superior organizational effectiveness by applying great leadership. Transform the organisational capability to leverage the PepsiCo Operating Model. Develop the next wave of leaders
  • Drive the cultural and organisational change agendas to create an appropriately resourced, profitable and agile business
  • Define business priorities for area, and lead the development of MU strategic plan 
  • Deliver quarterly results and the annual operational plan
  • Develop and implement initiatives leading to increase in sales and profitability - responsible for the profit and loss results of the country operation
  • Develop and manage ongoing relationships with key stakeholders in the local and Sector organization in order to leverage support for corporate initiatives
  • Embrace and contribute to the further development of the overall PepsiCo equity
  • Represent the business to all relevant external bodies
  • Accountable for identifying, pioneering and developing new business opportunities
  • Qualifications
  • Higher education with University degree is required; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred
  • Significant breadth of experience in Commercial roles with P&L responsibility, ideally in FMCG environment
  • Key Account management experience / understands different channel behaviours and strategic trends and metrics. Skilled negotiator who is able to conduct multi-faceted negotiations at both tactical and strategic levels
  • Multi-category experience would be preferable
  • Franchise experience is not essential but would be advantageous
  • Proven change management skills and a track record of engaging and motivating others around a change agenda. Responsive to change in a clear, positive and inclusive manner.
  • Financial acumen demonstrated with delivery of financial results, cash-flow management and enhanced shareholder value. Highly numerically bright; sound critical thinking and analytical capability: able to foster the critical commercial drivers for excellence and efficiency within the organization
  • Strong results orientation with a track record of hitting and exceeding targets: personal commitment to seek outstanding performance and continuous improvement, aiming to reach higher sales, productivity, service and excellence. Ability to set clear objectives, devise plans, attend to appropriate details, meet deadlines, and inspire others to move towards an established direction
  • Proven success of having grown businesses through execution of marketing and commercial strategies and plans, while at the same time increasing the capabilities of a business through the introduction of more sophisticated processes, systems, best practices & people
  • Outstanding leadership and team building skills with proven success in developing and motivating individuals and teams to deliver improved business results. An inspiring leader with clear ability to manage complexity and adversity. A successful track record of hiring, developing, managing and leading a strong, management team of mid & senior level managers
  • Communication and influencing capability, with demonstrable experience at a senior level both internally and with customers
  • Excellent relationship management skills and a strong team player
  • A self-starter who is able to operate with a degree of autonomy
  • Manages ambiguity effectively and can operate under pressure
  • High energy, open, resilient, focused and enthusiastic
